“I feel tremendous on this ladder.” - Christian Konu
Introduction:
I am fairly new to the business world yet, everyday I understand it better. My perspective has also changed, I used to find the cheapest and easiest option for every purchase. Now that I run a small business myself, I tend to search out the local businesses. I believe what you give is what you get, so supporting local businesses in Winnipeg isn't a tall ask of myself, when it is exactly what I hope for in return.
I will not wreck your trees in your yard, cause clearly I am a fan of them.
As humans, we have this primal need to bond and connect with one another. And one of the best ways to do that is by supporting our community. But let's face it, sometimes it can be hard to care about the local businesses when Amazon and huge companies are just a click away. But here's the deal, folks: small businesses are the lifeblood of our community, and by supporting them, we're actually doing ourselves a favor.
Not only do we get to shop for unique and interesting items, but we're also helping to boost the local economy. Think about it this way, when we shop at a local store, we're not just buying a product, we're buying into a story. We get to know the people behind the business, their hopes, dreams, and challenges. It's like a mini soap opera, and we get to be a part of it. Plus, let's be honest, small businesses are way cooler than big-box stores. You're not going to find handmade soap or artisanal cheese at Walmart. And let's not even talk about the weird smells. And it's not just about shopping either. We can support our community by volunteering at local organizations, attending community events, and even just saying hi to our neighbors. Who knows, maybe they have a secret talent for making the best apple pie in town.
By supporting our community, we're not just helping the local economy, but we're also creating a sense of belonging and unity. We can feel proud of where we live, and we can work together to make it even better. So, the next time you're debating between clicking "buy now" or heading down to your local store, remember this: supporting your community is not just the right thing to do, it's also the fun thing to do. Who knows, you might just discover your new favorite shop, or even better, your new best friend.
Another thing that small businesses win at is their hands on knowledge and personal touch. When was the last time a big CEO of any company touched one of their products or delivered a service... A LONG TIME AGO. All of this to say, small business owners care about your experience and know exactly how to make it better, which will most likely leave you very satisfied.
